Just in case Huh

SNAFU

I've heard good things about REAL 10mm, 7n6,7.62 Tok,Good 5.7, and good .357 Mag.

Also, .38 super is a excellent round that should have been further developed.

I plan on getting a Colt 1911 for Christmas and I am kicking around a .38 Super.

most any hunting caliber sold at walmart; .30-30, .308, .30-06, ect. that is assuming you're talking about normal soft body armor worn by most folks who wear it.

Like the man said, depends on the body armour
Otherwise, the "good" 5.7, or rifle calibers, black tip 556 (but you never see it) is my favorite.

Snafu, I really like the 38 Super in a 1911, my primary carry was a SS Colt GCNM 45ACP from the Cold Custom Shop, now in the possession of my step daughter who is worth every last cent!
Now I rely on a BHP 40 S&S, also Tripp chrome, a with the excellent Sprinco Corbon recoil spring, as well as 2 HK P7s, M13 Tripp Chrome/Satin, and a blued M8.
But I would love to have a 1911 in 38 Super, maybe a Commander style.
