I replaced the wood on it. I destroyed the wood because I let Hoppes soak into it. But I still have the old Marlin 39A.
It's over 30 years old. I bought it new.

First gun I owned was a Sears rebranded Stevens 34 .22 bolt rifle, followed up by a Winchester Model 1897 12 gauge, a Model 1891 pump in .22WRF, a Rock Island 1903 and a Colt 1911. The Winchesters and the military guns were my Great Grandfathers, of which the 1903 and 1911 he smuggled home after 2 stints in the Marines.

Remington 870 12 gauge 18 inch HD model, and Mosin Nagano on the same day. I got an M&P15 MOE 2009 original carbine version and an M&P9 that was an inaccurate POS. I fell for the bullshit and got a C39 in 2014 and had several issues. I got an M70ab2 and had great luck. Now I have 10 AK's and several other rifles and shotgun. I have a g19 for carrying and an m&p40 for car protection. I recently got 2 veprs, an Arsenal 545 and a PTR-91 GI R an ACSS scope and 2 Eotechs.

Thanks.

My dad bought it new in 1957 and was the first of only two guns he ever bought.  It's the first gun I ever fired.

I inherited it two years ago.

Savage Model 24s do show up on gunbroker, but they are usually pricey.
