Post your favorite bolt action

This is my baby. No. 4 MK2(F) Enfield. Her action is magic, so smooth. She has been cared for, loved, maintained and every bit as tight as the day she came from momma England. She still has the original lubrication device in her loving cared for stock.

She is grace, and elegance, beauty and refinement; a piece of history. I love this rifle, more than my AR15.

Bolt action thread? Bolt action thread.

My step dad had a Enfield, said he found it in a cow pasture when he was about 15, it was rather fucked up so he "sporterized" the original stock because it was fucked.

It ran like a top and we used to (try) shoot garbage cans at about 300 yards with it.

What's 303 British going for now?

It was 17$ for 20 rounds back then I believe?

303 is at least a dollar a round now. All those cheap post war stocks dried up so its not a cheap shoot. Pity.

I still want one, problem is that for one someone has not hacked up people want 400-600$ and I can't justify that.

Maybe I'd pay 400$ If one fell into my lap after tax returns or I one a lottery ticket.

What's the longest fire ball you have gotten out of it?

Hell if I had to guess 18" or so. Maybe more.

The gun on the bottom is my favorite, It is a finnish M39 I found in my closet that my dad gave me.
The Gun on top is my other M39 a NOS 1970 "Sneak"

I also like my m4ar15.com I just got from aim surplus.

I also like my Finnish Captured 1915  westinghouse M91 pictured on the left.

Very nice, I need a modern rifle with a modern scope.
I am old school & the only rifles in my collection with a scope is 4 original WW2 91/30 PU snipers.
I had a colt r6600dh ar15a2 I purchased back in the 80's that had a scope but I took it off & sold it.
I need to get some of those new fangle tangle dangle electronic thingys but I hate electronics & removed my electronic lock off my gun safe & installed a mechanical lock that was designed over 100 years ago & does not take battery's.

FBHO you must be having a problem with dropping your text when you quote.
That iss odd that it works for some but not others.
I have tried to fix but can not find the problem.

i just got a couple mausers the other week one is just a plain jane 98 8mm large ring (shitty sporter job) the other is a argentine 1909 (shitty sporter). both actions look like new. good blue, no pits, ect. (i have about $100 bucks a piece in these rifles Big Grin ) the argentine action is worth more than i paid for both rifles and a shotgun Big Grin

planning on .35 whelen, and .458 win mag.

shilen barrels, rust blued, express sights, sling loop barrel band, exhibition grade walnut, maybe a tasteful amount of engraving nothing retarded or anything like that.

i just kinda fell into these so i figured it has been awhile since i have bothered with blue and wood, these will hang nicely near the 1911's and saa's.

wish i could luck into some mother fucking falling blocks, or rolling blocks. i miss the days of $25 dollar steven's favorites at every gun show in town (nothing like a .22 short stevens favorite with a match grade barrel).

This one is fun to shoot suppressed.

I get 5 or 6 shots and I can't see out of the scope because the mirage is so bad. The paper target is all over the place. The Mirage is caused by the heat waves coming off the can up front. It's a little Remington varmint gun in 223 Remington.

Now the sheepies are reaching for their babies because I have an assassin's weapon! Hey sheepies, this baby is so quiet it can reach out 3 miles and hit exactly were I point it! HA
